Craig Compiano is an expert business manager and entrepreneur with extensive executive management experience and a track record for developing successful businesses. He brings to the company and the industry, 30 years experience in business and systems development, operations, and finance. His prior accomplishments in software development for large commercial and public sector clients during his tenure at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) led to his current concentration on operational systems development and performance analytics for data centers, and the founding of Modius. Previously as Co-founder and Vice President of Paymap, Inc., Mr. Compiano prototyped, developed, and deployed an Electronic Payment System, that has been widely adopted by the banking industry. He was awarded a patent for this technology. Mr. Compiano has a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, and an MBA Finance from UC Berkeley.
Vice President, Engineering
Scott Brown is an accomplished software executive and technologist with over 25 years of engineering and enterprise software experience. He has a broad product/technology background that includes data warehousing, business intelligence, telecommunications applications, networking, and distributed storage systems. His functional background includes product development, strategy, product management, customer support, professional services and IT. Previously, Mr. Brown was VP of Products and Services at DecisionPoint Software where he built a high performance product team known for on-time releases, reinvigorated service and support and significantly strengthened the depth and breadth of the product offering. Prior to DecisionPoint, Mr. Brown held senior engineering and strategic planning positions: at Veritas – where he was responsible for four strategic product lines; Novell – where he drove the design and development of Novell Storage Services; and at Tandem Computers – where he managed the telecommunications applications group including engineering and customer service. Mr. Brown also led significant engineering teams for a number of start-up companies including Telespree, Andromedia and Computer Curriculum Corporation. Mr. Brown received an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BS in Computer Science from Utah State University. Mr. Brown is a contributing author in two books published by MIT Press: Technology 2001: The Future of Computing and Communications (1991) and The Future of Software (1995).
Vice President, Business Development
Sean Gately is an experienced business development executive and brings to Modius his extensive experience in building partnerships, programs, and products for software and high-tech companies. Mr. Gately has extensive experience building new partner programs from the ground up, with a focus on creating programs for new market trends including IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and advanced and predictive analytics offerings.
Previously Mr. Gately was the lead IoT strategist and lead for new partner development for Dell Statistica, a predictive analytics company where he was responsible for launching Dell’s IoT edge analytics product and partner network, Statistica Edge, a market leading predictive analytics solution foredge IoT deployments.
Mr. Gately was the founder of Omniom Technology Group, a channel business development firm concentrating on revenue generation, product creation, and market analysis, as well as strategic direction for high tech software companies focused on bringing revenue to their IoT and artificial intelligence product offerings.
Mr. Gately has both founded and held senior level positions in sales, marketing and business development for small and large enterprise companies in the software industry.
Vice President, Sales
Mark Carberry became Vice President of Sales for Modius Inc on May 1, 2018. He brings to the team an extensive background in Telecom and equipment monitoring. Mark graduated from UCLA in 1999 where he majored in Cognitive Science. He started his career as an embedded programmer for RTU products. As a developer Mark gained valuable experience working with numerous technologies encompassing hardware, software, communication, and cybersecurity. Through hard work and dedication, Mark joined the executive team of DPS Telecom in 2002 where he served for 10 years as Engineering Director, and 6 years as Vice President of Sales. In his role at DPS, Mark was instrumental in revamping products in time for the network revolution of the 2000’s and beyond. Mark’s experience as a product developer and Sales Engineer exposed him to real world needs for which he skillfully and repeatedly developed practical solutions. The VoIP Orderwire products is just one example of Mark’s innovation for industry that is still popular today for creating IP phone service at radio sites without the need for a central server. Mark is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to SCADA protocols and best practices for monitoring and control. His expertise includes sensor instrumentation, remote terminal units, and fault management systems.
