OpenData® Power Module
OpenData® Power Module
The Power Module helps both IT and Facilities management develop strategies for optimizing and extending power capacity in complex data center environments.
Data Center Facilities Operators are tasked with ensuring maximum uptime, minimizing utility costs, and ensuring adequate power capacity exists to support an ever-changing allocation of IT equipment.
Knowing exactly where capacity exists for new equipment deployment or equipment relocation without jeopardizing service level agreements is critical for rapid response to business requirements. OpenData Power Management is the key to infrastructure optimization and agile support of business initiatives.
The OpenData Power Management Module provides the ability to create an exact model of the power distribution infrastructure. This model enables performance monitoring, fail-over, and redundancy scenario testing, and power capacity planning to support IT operations in your data center.
Module Highlights
- Dynamically generated interactive one-line graphics document power flow throughout your entire electrical system, from utility entrance to rack plug.
Continuous Real-Time Data Collection from each component in your facility’s power system. - Receive timely notifications when power events occur, or critical thresholds are crossed in your system via customizable alerts.
- Configurable asset attributes utilize both standard (i.e. make, model, install date, rating) and customized data metrics (i.e. customer assignment, asset number, end-of-life).
- The platform collects performance data using manufacturer’s rated, de-rated, user specified, measured real-time, or downstream power feed aggregates.
- Detailed view of complete or partial power chain with on-demand availability of performance data from individual nodes.
- Load Balancing Analysis shows real-time utilization, capacity, and load levels for redundant pairs. Instantly visualize power load imbalances for electrical panels and rack PDUs.
- Circuit Redundancy Definitions define correct mapping for power flow in architectures with redundant paths.
Interactively test the effect of adding or subtracting loads or simulate equipment failures to gain insight into how system redundancy will perform. - Provisioned Circuits assign power usage for components or circuits to individual customers or end-users, and specific date-time periods – for usage tracking and bill reporting.
- Improve Power and Server Efficiency – Increase server density to do more work by freeing up power capacity trapped by overprovisioning.
Redistribute available power to your current IT deployment instead of buying and adding additional servers. - Engineers can use the interactive graphical interface to determine where to add loads or expand circuit distribution – aligning power allocation to actual demand.
Increase Uptime – Eliminate power-related outages caused by human error.
