President, Chief Executive Officer
Craig Compiano is an expert business manager and entrepreneur with extensive executive management experience and a track record for developing successful businesses. He brings to the company and the industry, 30 years experience in business and systems development, operations, and finance. His prior accomplishments in software development for large commercial and public sector clients during his tenure at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) led to his current concentration on operational systems development and performance analytics for data centers, and the founding of Modius. Previously as Co-founder and Vice President of Paymap, Inc., Mr. Compiano prototyped, developed, and deployed an Electronic Payment System, that has been widely adopted by the banking industry. He was awarded a patent for this technology. Mr. Compiano has a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, and an MBA Finance from UC Berkeley.
Vice President, Engineering
Scott Brown is an accomplished software executive and technologist with over 25 years of engineering and enterprise software experience. He has a broad product/technology background that includes data warehousing, business intelligence, telecommunications applications, networking, and distributed storage systems. His functional background includes product development, strategy, product management, customer support, professional services and IT. Previously, Mr. Brown was VP of Products and Services at DecisionPoint Software where he built a high performance product team known for on-time releases, reinvigorated service and support and significantly strengthened the depth and breadth of the product offering. Prior to DecisionPoint, Mr. Brown held senior engineering and strategic planning positions: at Veritas - where he was responsible for four strategic product lines; Novell - where he drove the design and development of Novell Storage Services; and at Tandem Computers - where he managed the telecommunications applications group including engineering and customer service. Mr. Brown also led significant engineering teams for a number of start-up companies including Telespree, Andromedia and Computer Curriculum Corporation. Mr. Brown received an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BS in Computer Science from Utah State University. Mr. Brown is a contributing author in two books published by MIT Press: Technology 2001: The Future of Computing and Communications (1991) and The Future of Software (1995).
Mark E. Stumm
Vice President, Marketing & Product Strategy
Mark Stumm is an experienced executive manager with a 30 year background in product development and marketing. He has an extensive background in software development, product management and marketing with numerous high-tech companies, from startups to large enterprises. Previously, Mr. Stumm was principal at MESA Consulting Group, a professional services company he founded in 1980 to provide software development, product management and marketing expertise to high-tech companies throughout California. Prior to MESA Consulting, Mr. Stumm was vice president of Marketing for Global Data Center Management (GDCM), spearheading the company’s launch in the U.S. and rebranding the company as nlyte Software. After running sales and marketing for nlyte Software, Mr. Stumm was promoted to vice president of Product Management, developing the strategic roadmap for all future nlyte products and delivering nlyte Software’s DCIM Discovery and Analytics solutions. Mr. Stumm also spent four years at Network Harmoni, a provider of network management solutions for data centers, as vice president of Marketing and Product Management where he repositioned the company for eventual sale to Micromuse, Inc. Mr. Stumm holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Coleman University.
