What do you get to do in this position?
- DCIM Systems Support: Administer, configure, and troubleshoot DCIM software and hardware systems to ensure operational integrity and uptime.
- Site Assessment & Design: Conduct on-site surveys to evaluate mechanical infrastructure (HVAC, airflow, automation components), and recommend improvements for reliability and energy efficiency.
- Mechanical Systems Engineering: Consult in the design and refinement of mechanical systems to meet cooling demands and physical constraints, ensuring alignment with energy and space efficiency goals.
- Field Collaboration: Partner with clients and their construction and installation teams to ensure accurate implementation of designs to ensure data integrity in our software.
- Commissioning & Testing: Participate in system startup and commissioning activities, verifying full integration of mechanical systems with controls and DCIM platforms.
- System Lifecycle Management: Help identify aging or underperforming systems, proposing upgrades or replacements for sustained performance.
- Standards & Documentation: Develop and maintain design specifications, BOMs, test plans, and system documentation for internal use and client delivery.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on mechanical systems for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Troubleshooting: Advise best applications of DCIM software to diagnose and resolve issues in mechanical and control systems, supporting uptime and performance targets.
- Energy Optimization: Help identify and implement opportunities to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Component Development: Support the design, testing, and deployment of components that interface across industrial and corporate networks.
- Project Planning: Contribute to conceptual design, execution strategies, cost estimation, and scheduling for new projects.
- Installation & Validation: Assist in the installation and commissioning of system/network-level controllers and validate end-to-end system functionality.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with highly motivated engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
This job might be for you if you have:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design, controls, and/or data center infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with HVAC, BMS, BAS, and airflow management technologies.
- Hands-on experience with commissioning and troubleshooting mechanical/control systems
- Proficient in reading and creating technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Knowledge of DCIM platforms and IT/OT network integration is essential.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, or LON.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
- Ability to travel regularly to customer sites across the U.S. (approximately 25% travel).
- Must be eligible to obtain necessary credentials for site access, which may include background checks, drug screenings, Homeland Security clearance, and/or a valid passport.
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly ACAD, Visio etc.
Qualifications, Desirable:
- Field service leadership, providing emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, start-up services, and technical support nationwide.
- Strong communicator and technical writer, capable of developing commissioning scripts, test schedules, and operational procedures.
- Particular experience with Powerlogic, Tracer Summit, Tridium, Foreseer, JCI, WebCTRL, or Sitescan is a plus.
- Knowledge of and strategies for Internet Data Center Environments preferred.
