Craig Compiano

Chairman of the Board

Craig Compiano is an expert business manager and entrepreneur with extensive executive management experience and a track record for developing successful businesses. He brings to the company and the industry, 30 years experience in business and systems development, operations, and finance. His prior accomplishments in software development for large commercial and public sector clients during his tenure at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) led to his current concentration on operational systems development and performance analytics for data centers, and the founding of Modius. Previously as Co-founder and Vice President of Paymap, Inc., Mr. Compiano prototyped, developed, and deployed an Electronic Payment System, that has been widely adopted by the banking industry. He was awarded a patent for this technology. Mr. Compiano has a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, and an MBA Finance from UC Berkeley.

Board Members

Barry Ariko has over forty (40) years of experience in the high technology industry, and retired as the Chairman and CEO of Mirapoint, a provider of email and security appliances, which merged with Critical Path.  Mr. Ariko was CEO of Extricity a B2B software company which he successful sold in 2001 to Peregrine Systems (later acquired by HP) and was the EVP and COO of Netscape Communications when it was sold to AOL in 1999.  Mr. Ariko was EVP of the Americas for Oracle from 1994-1998 and grew revenue from $600M to $4.2B annually.  He was with Tandem Computers, a manufacturer of fault-tolerant computer systems for thirteen (13) years, his last position being SVP Americas.  He currently sits on the board of two public companies:  Incyte Corporation (INCY)NASDAQ, a small molecule drug discovery company based in Wilmington, DE and  is chairman of GLOBO, PLC, an AIM listed software company (GBO:LN) on the London Stock Exchange.  Other directorships have included: Autonomy, Ltd. (LSE), an unstructured data search company based in Cambridge, UK recently acquired by Hewlitt Packard, chairmanship of InStranet, an industry leading knowledge base company acquired by SalesForce.com; as well as a number of other private companies.  He successfully completed the Advanced Executive Management Program at Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and finished his BS in Management at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA.

Steven Saltwick brings over thirty (30) years of experience in product management, marketing, and business development in both large and small companies, driving solution-marketing programs with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) in the financial, telecommunications, manufacturing, and public sector spaces.  As a Director for HP and Compaq, he accelerated worldwide sales, doubling the existing market growth rate.  As VP of Marketing for Tandem, Matrix Network Systems, and ClearCommerce, he developed innovative partnering programs with SAP, ACI Payment Systems, LSI, IBM, AMDOCs and other industry-leading companies in the U.S., EMEA, and APAC markets.  A prolific speaker, Mr. Saltwick has lectured on the topics of strategic planning and product management at many global industry events.  Mr. Saltwick holds a BA in Mathematics and Psychology from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and participated in the nueropsychology Ph.D. program at the University of Texas at Austin.  He has published several papers on brain function in Medical research journals, including SCIENCE Magazine.

Tim Crawford is an internationally renowned thought leader in the areas of IT Transformation, Innovation, Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things (IoT).  His areas of expertise include strategy, applications, services, infastructure, and operations.  Mr. Crawford serves as an advisor to global enterprises, government agencies, venture capital firms, and startups across numerous industries on a global scale including airline, financial services, and healthcare.  He has served as CIO and has held other senior IT roles with global organizations such as Konica Minolta/All Covered, Stanford University, Knight-Ridder, Philips Electronics, and National Semiconductor.  He is a regular keynote speaker at industry conferences and is well published in business and technology publications.  In addition to his participation on the Modius Board of Directors, Mr. Crawford also sits on the Advisory Board for CloudVelox and is an Analyst and published contributor for Gigaom Research.  Mr. Crawford holds an MBA in International Business with Honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems both from Golden Gate University.
