IoT is all about taking action based on the data being collected at the edge of the network. Supporting IoT applications requires both robust real-time data collection and the ability to share this data with other applications and devices.OpenData has a fully published API and REST-compliant web services to provide a standardized way of integrating Web-based applications using the XML, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI open standards over an Internet protocol backbone. XML is used to tag the data, SOAP is used to transfer the data, WSDL is used for describing the services available and UDDI lists what services are available.
OpenDate “out of the box” support
OpenData, “out of the box” supports integration to IoT devices, sensors, facility infrastructure, IT equipment, and 3rd party software applications from multiple vendors. In some cases, a minimal effort may be required to assess the level of integration required and apply the proper strategy, (deep linking, database access, web services API, etc.), to achieve the desired results.
